Linnea Frank Art
Artist working between Sweden and Cape Town
Linnea Frank is a Swedish-born artist working between Sweden and Cape Town, South Africa. Her practice moves between photography and fine art, with a focus on large-scale, limited edition works printed on metal. The material is integral to the work — chosen for its depth, weight, and ability to give each image a lasting physical presence.
Her artistic foundation was shaped in Stockholm, where she spent several years assisting Swedish photographer Bingo Rimér before establishing her own studio. During this time, Linnea developed a distinct visual language rooted in portraiture, human form, and emotional restraint — a balance between strength and vulnerability that continues to define her work today.
Since her first exhibition in Sweden in 2011, her work has been exhibited regularly in both Sweden and South Africa. Her work is represented by Soul of Afrika Gallery in Munich and You and I Gallery in Cape Town, and is held in private collections internationally.
In Cape Town, Linnea works from her own studio in Hout Bay, where selected works are available to view by appointment. Collectors are invited to experience the pieces in person — to see the scale, surface, and material qualities that define her metal prints.
A recurring anchor in her artistic journey is Konstrundan in Ystad, where Linnea returns each Easter with an evolving exhibition. The annual showing reflects both continuity and change — new works placed in dialogue with earlier pieces, shaped by time, place, and lived experience.
Linnea’s art is created to exist beyond the moment of capture. Each work is produced in carefully limited editions, intended to hold space, age with its environment, and remain quietly present over time.
Each piece is created to be lived with — to hold space quietly, over time.
